A civil engineering graduate of Stanford University and a licensed professional engineer in California and Hawaii, Ian Forsyth has nearly 20 years of experience as a building envelope (roofing, waterproofing, and/or exterior wall) consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Honolulu, and San Diego. Ian is an AWCI certified EIFS inspector.
Ian has worked on literally hundreds of projects. Representative work includes a wide range of buildings and scopes of work, from assessment of the condition of common asphalt shingle roofs on multi-family residential buildings, to design and/or observation of the installation of many roofing and below grade waterproofing systems of commercial buildings, to inspection of masonry repairs on high rise buildings, including “dutchman” repairs on the limestone facade of the Empire State Building. These experiences provided Ian with a comprehensive understanding of building envelope technology, particularly in regard to roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall/façade restoration.
Being a small firm, Ian provides principal-level service, often at a fraction of the market rate. As a service-oriented business, Forsyth Consulting will always put the needs of the clients first. Providing a high level of value to the client is our priority.
